It\u2019s been a tough road for\u00a0Sofronio Vasquez<\/strong>\u00a0to get to this high point in his\u00a0life, winning Season 26 of\u00a0The Voice<\/em>. Despite growing up with virtually nothing, including no bed or indoor plumbing, Sofronio calls his childhood a happy one because he had his dad and the\u00a0music\u00a0they made together.<\/p>\n

But when his father died unexpectedly, Sofronio had to put music aside to pursue a career in dentistry, which eventually led him to move from the Philippines to Utica, N.Y., where he got his second chance at a music career when he was greenlighted through to\u00a0The Voice\u00a0<\/em>Blind Auditions.<\/p>\n

From his Blind Audition that got all four coaches to turn for him to his finale duet with coach\u00a0Michael Bubl\u00e9<\/strong>, the 31-year-old from Mindanao, Philippines has soared through his performances, including the\u00a0Roy Orbison<\/strong>\u00a0ballad, \u201cCrying,\u201d \u201cSia<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cUnstoppable\u201d and \u201cA Million Dreams\u201d from\u00a0The Greatest Showman<\/em>\u00a0soundtrack.<\/p>\n
