Yellowstone\u00a0<\/span>fans banded together<\/span>\u00a0to fire back at\u00a0Quentin Tarantino<\/span>\u00a0after the iconic director dismissed their\u00a0favorite Western drama\u00a0<\/span>as little more than a \u2018soap opera.\u2019<\/p>\n

The online drama kicked off after the Pulp Fiction creator, 61, was asked to compare movies with modern TV shows during a\u00a0recent appearance\u00a0on The\u00a0Joe Rogan<\/span>\u00a0Experience podcast.<\/p>\n

While Tarantino admitted that some recent TV series are \u2018pretty good,\u2019 he argued they are never as \u2018compelling\u2019 as feature films and\u00a0used Yellowstone\u2014which recently saw the departure of Kevin Costner<\/span>\u2014as his prime example.<\/p>\n

\u2018I didn\u2019t really get around to watching Yellowstone\u2019the first three years or so. Then I watch the first season, and I\u2019m like, \u201cWow, this is f****** great!\u201d I\u2019ve always been a big\u00a0Kevin Costner<\/span>\u00a0fan, he\u2019s f******wonderful in this,\u2019 Tarantino recalled.\u00a0\u2018And I get really caught up in the show, I\u2019m having a great time watching. And the first season, I\u2019m kind of talking like, \u201cOh, this is like a big movie.\u201d\u2018<\/p>\n

He continued: \u2018While I\u2019m watching it, I\u2019m compelled. But at the end of the day, it\u2019s just a soap opera.\u2019<\/p>\n
