They didn\u2019t have to look far, either, because during the finale, Paramount Network aired a brand new teaser trailer for the\u00a0<em>Yellowstone<\/em>\u00a0prequel\u00a0<em>1923<\/em>, and with it, our first serious look into what\u2019s ahead for the new chapter of the period Western.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1nd4gv7 emevuu60\" data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"1\">The trailer begins with a voiceover from Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar), saying, in what could well be a Dutton family motto, \u201cIn Montana, there\u2019s a war over my family\u2019s land, and they\u2019re losing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1nd4gv7 emevuu60\" data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"2\">The wayward Dutton son spent the first season of the series attempting to make his way back to Montana from Africa, where he was working as a big game hunter. It seems the journey isn\u2019t over for Spencer yet, as in the trailer he\u2019s seen hiding out on a train with some very menacing looking fellow passengers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block Elsewhere, antagonist Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) is apparently still making trouble, ominously telling his henchman Banner (Jerome Flynn) \u201cIt\u2019s time to build and army.\u201d<\/p>\n<section class=\"embed\" data-embed=\"recirculation\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-9\" data-node-id=\"5\" data-hydrated=\"1\"><\/section>\n<p class=\"css-1nd4gv7 emevuu60\" data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"6\">Indeed, Banner is seen getting his hands dirty, tossing a body over a cliff\u2014could this be the first of<em>\u00a0Yellowstone<\/em>\u2018s metaphorical \u201ctrips to the train station\u201d?<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1nd4gv7 emevuu60\" data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"7\">Certainly Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) seems to have had all he can take from the man, warning Whitfield, \u201cI think this is as far as I feel like being pushed,\u201d but whether or not that will work out well for the Dutton patriarch is no guarantee\u2014as his wife Cara (Helen Mirren) says, \u201cThis ranch will drive you to your death.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"stream-item-size\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"css-1nd4gv7 emevuu60\" data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"8\">True to its name, the teaser only offers us our first hints at what\u2019s to come, but one thing\u2019s for certain, whatever it is, it\u2019s sure to be filled to the brim with the Dutton family\u2019s signature brand of intensity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1nd4gv7 emevuu60\" data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"9\">The first season of\u00a0<em>1923<\/em>\u00a0is currently making its first run on cable on Paramount Network\u2014the show originally appeared on the Paramount+ streaming service in 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1nd4gv7 emevuu60\" data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"11\">Though the\u00a0second season of the series\u00a0is set to be the next chapter for the Dutton\u2019s history, it certainly won\u2019t be the last. In addition to a previously announced outing under the working title\u00a0<em>1944<\/em>, this week Deadline broke the news that Yellowstone stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser have signed on to head up a\u00a0new spinoff series centered on their characters Rip and Beth.
