It\u2019s not easy being a\u00a0Yellowstone<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>fan. One minute you\u2019re jumping for joy that the series is back, and the next you\u2019re wondering just how the hell it will end. Thankfully, creator\u00a0Taylor Sheridan<\/a>\u00a0took the high road after his\u00a0cameo-filled outing<\/a>\u00a0last week. In the\u00a0season 5 finale<\/a>, the writer let audiences indulge in just about everything they suspected was coming their way. In short: The Dutton family saves the ranch, and Beth (Kelly Reilly) kills Jamie (Wes Bentley). When they inevitably ask what\u2019s next, well, a\u00a0spin-off<\/a>\u00a0featuring the Dutton daughter and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser<\/a>) feels imminent.<\/p>\n

Paramount has yet to make the news official, but that could change at the drop of a hat. Over the past few months,\u00a0we\u2019ve already gone from a potential\u00a0Matthew McConaughey\u2013led sequel<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Kevin Costner<\/a>\u2019s character\u00a0dead<\/a>\u00a0in his own bathroom. McConaughey\u2019s Dutton outing has also been replaced with a sequel series titled\u00a0The Madison<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>starring Michelle Pfeiffer and\u00a0Lost<\/em>\u2019s Matthew Fox as members of a new family, the Clyburns. That news had already opened a can of worms regarding\u00a0Yellowstone<\/em>\u2019s future\u2014namely, who the hell are the Clyburns?<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Luke Grimes<\/a>\u00a0(Kayce Dutton), a sixth season just doesn\u2019t make sense. \u201cI\u2019d do it, [but] I just don\u2019t understand how it would work once the story ends,\u201d the actor tells Esquire. \u201cKayce wants to cowboy and be happy with his family. He doesn\u2019t want to kill people anymore. He doesn\u2019t want the weight of a huge mega ranch that isn\u2019t sustainable in today\u2019s times. He wants his little slice of heaven. It\u2019s that simple.\u201d<\/p>\n
