Landman<\/em>\u00a0fans rejoice\u2026 it sounds like a second season is on the way.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Taylor Sheridan sure knows how to craft a hit television show, does he not? The writer and director just wrapped up\u00a0Yellowstone\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0five season run, and with his latest addition of\u00a0Landman<\/em>, Sheridan officially has a plethora of captivating, popular shows on TV.<\/p>\n In case you haven\u2019t done a deep dive on\u00a0Landman<\/em>, the ten-part series tackles the ins-and-outs of the various components making up the oil industry. It also boasts an impressive cast with the likes of Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm and Demi Moore all playing major roles.<\/p>\n And for some viewers, it\u2019s pulling back the curtain on the oil industry for the very first time. Sheridan loves to take a topic that people might not be all that familiar with and shape narratives around it. That was certainly the motivation for\u00a0Landman<\/em>, which just set a streaming record for Paramount+. More than 14.9 million people have tuned in during the show\u2019s first four weeks to watch the drama surrounding Texas\u2019 oil boom.<\/p>\n With those kind of numbers, it shouldn\u2019t come as any surprise that the show could \u2013 and likely will \u2013 return for a second season. However, as of right now, Sheridan\u2019s oil drama still hasn\u2019t been picked up for season two. That being said, all signs (and quotes from the cast) are pointing towards more\u00a0Landman<\/em>\u00a0in the future.<\/p>\n After being nominated for a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Tommy Norris, Billy Bob Thornton told\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u00a0that he hoped his nomination could help\u00a0Landman<\/em>\u00a0secure a second act:<\/p>\n \u201cThe show has done very well, so it just stands to reason that they would do another one. But especially when you get a nomination for something \u2013 that draws attention to your show, so I think that helps. I can\u2019t see why they wouldn\u2019t. I imagine we\u2019ll find it pretty soon, because if we were going to do one, we\u2019ll have to start not too long after the first of the year.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n If what Billy Bob Thornton said there is true, that makes it sound like there\u2019s somewhat of a ticking clock in regards to getting a season two going \u2013 if it is, in fact, going to happen.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And based on the fan reaction to the show, as well as the how the cast has talked about their desire to continue, it certainly seems like\u00a0Landman<\/em>\u00a0could be renewed. Christian Wallace, the co-creator of\u00a0Landman<\/em>, told\u00a0The Direct\u00a0that he hopes they can continue to tell the stories of the Texas oil boom for quite some time:<\/p>\n \u201cAs long as there are stories to tell, I would love to keep telling them. And I think we really just skimmed the surface on our first season, and that\u2019s saying something because they cover a lot of ground. So yeah, I hope we keep telling these stories for a while.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n For those that are really hoping for good news about\u00a0Landman<\/em>, the most concrete news that has been released about season two might have actually come in the form of a slip up by Demi Moore. She plays the character Cami, who is married to Jon Hamm\u2019s Monty Miller. When the actress was at the Cannes Festival, she seemed to confirm a second season of the show:<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a very interesting world in the boomtown of Fort Worth, Texas. It\u2019s kind of this subculture that we haven\u2019t seen before, which is what I think Taylor does so well. I thought we looked really good.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n He was lovely and I\u2019ve known Billy Bob Thornton for a long time. I\u2019ve already completed the first season and I\u2019m excited for us to start the second which will be at the beginning of next year.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n So season two of\u00a0Landman<\/em>\u00a0may not be official just yet, but that definitely sounds like one of the main cast members is banking on returning to the show in the new year.
