As always,\u00a0Susan Boyle delivers on every occasion \u2014 even on a British dancing show.<\/p>\n

In 2011, arguably one of the most famous\u00a0Got Talent\u00a0<\/em>alums ever took the stage for a performance on UK-based\u00a0Strictly Come Dancing<\/em>\u00a0that took us by surprise. Boyle\u2019s vocals paired perfectly with the jaw-dropping dance routine that played out on screen. She powerfully belted out \u201cUnchained Melody\u201d while a beautiful dance took place in front of her, and it was mesmerizing.<\/p>\n

Those high notes are not only impressive, but they\u2019d feel right at home in an opera setting. There\u2019s a level of emotion Boyle brings to every performance that is beyond comparison. Whether\u00a0singing for the Pope\u00a0or in\u00a0the recording studio, Boyle never gives less than 100% effort, and it shows.<\/p>\n

Of course, there\u2019s a reason why Boyle\u2019s version of \u201cUnchained Melody\u201d\u00a0sounds so heavenly\u00a0because\u00a0she\u2019s perfected the song\u00a0throughout her career.<\/p>\n

During a 2019 interview with\u00a0PEOPLE<\/em>, the star talked about how she has no intention of being a \u201cdiva\u201d \u2014 in fact, she prides herself in staying grounded.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t ever want to become a diva and I think having a good group of people around you ensures you don\u2019t,\u201d she explained. \u201cI still live in the same house I grew up in, I don\u2019t need a huge mansion for just myself and I still like to take the bus or walk to the supermarket and choose what I\u2019m having for my dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2024, Boyle is an international superstar \u2014 but you wouldn\u2019t get that vibe when listening to her speak.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s all about not believing the hype,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m still me, the wee woman who stepped on the\u00a0BGT<\/em>\u00a0audition stage almost 10 years ago and I\u2019ve been lucky enough to travel the world and perform in wonderful places but then I get to go home and just be me again, I get the best of both worlds!\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what to know about \u201cUnchained Melody\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Originally recorded in 1955 by singer Todd Duncan for the film\u00a0Unchained<\/em>, \u201cUnchained Melody\u201d was nominated for an\u00a0Academy Award\u00a0for Best Original Song one year later \u2014 but it wasn\u2019t the original version that garnered the most critical and commercial success!<\/p>\n

The Righteous Brothers released their own version in 1965, topping at #4 on the\u00a0Billboard<\/em>\u00a0Hot 100. It\u2019s an incredibly popular song to be covered.\u00a0Elvis Presley\u00a0famously covered the song in 1977 en route to the track becoming one of the King\u2019s most beloved releases, and\u00a0Kelly Clarkson\u2019s version\u00a0debuted for a Kellyoke.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnchained Melody\u201d was also prominently featured in the 1990 film\u00a0Ghost,<\/em>\u00a0and in 2004, the\u00a0American Film Institute\u00a0placed the tune on their list of the 100 greatest American film songs.<\/p>\n
