At just 13 years old, Hadwin became an international sensation after her electrifying performance on America\u2019s Got Talent captivated millions. Now, at 20, she\u2019s on the cusp of a major milestone: the release of her debut album, \u201cLittle Miss Jagged,\u201d set to drop on September 12, 2025. Ahead of her return to the stage, Courtney sat down for a candid chat about her journey, her music, and what\u2019s next.<\/p>\n

Fresh off rehearsals for her first live show in London, Courtney spoke with NSG\u2019s Billy Vitch, sharing how she\u2019s balancing the excitement of a new chapter with the roots of her small-town upbringing in northeast England.<\/p>\n

\u201cI grew up in a tiny village between Hartlepool and Durham,\u201d she said. \u201cEveryone knew everyone \u2014 it had one school, a shop and a pub. It definitely shaped my songwriting as I got older.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though her sound spans pop, rock, blues, and soul, Courtney says her voice wasn\u2019t molded by her environment \u2014 it came from within. \u201cMy parents didn\u2019t know any of the artists who inspired me. I found them on my own and introduced them to my family through my singing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Growing Up in the Spotlight<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s impossible to talk about Courtney Hadwin without mentioning America\u2019s Got Talent. Her 2018 audition performance of Otis Redding\u2019s \u201cHard to Handle\u201d has since racked up more than 310 million views, and her wild stage presence immediately drew comparisons to legends like Janis Joplin.<\/p>\n

But going viral at 13 wasn\u2019t all glamorous.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so grateful for the show \u2014 it gave me my start and helped me find the most loyal fans,\u201d she shared. \u201cBut growing up in public is hard. People still see me as that 13-year-old, even though I\u2019ve grown and changed in every way \u2014 musically, personally, everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
