Kelly Clarkson Debuts Her Las Vegas Residency<\/h2>\n

Just 90 minutes before the first show of her\u00a0Studio Sessions<\/em>\u00a0Las Vegas residency was set to begin on July 4th,\u00a0Kelly Clarkson<\/a>\u00a0made the difficult announcement that the\u00a0show had been canceled<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The celebrated singer revealed that she had been working around the clock to prepare the show and was experiencing vocal strain as a result.\u00a0She wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y\u2019all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve. The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong. I can\u2019t wait to be back next weekend and show y\u2019all what we\u2019ve been working on.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One week later, Clarkson\u00a0returned to the stage<\/a>\u00a0and officially kicked off her residency on July 11th. She took a moment during her performance to briefly explain what prompted the last-minute cancellation. She told the audience:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt took us a minute. I\u2019m so sorry.<\/em>\u00a0know some of y\u2019all had tickets for last weekend\u2019s shows. We can\u2019t help our bodies sometimes. You know we get sick, and that happens.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
