Sydnie Christmas, the powerhouse vocalist who captured the nationâs hearts when she won Britainâs Got Talent in 2023, is showing no signs of slowing down.

This summer, she returns to Londonâs iconic Eventim Apollo, but this time not as a contestantâsheâs stepping into the spotlight as the villainous Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical. Playing the stylish but sinister role is a big shift from the vulnerable ballads that won her the BGT title, but Sydnie is more than ready.
âItâs a dream to be back on this stage. Iâve always wanted to do musical theatre, and now I get to do itâon my birthday, no less,â she laughed, referring to the musicalâs opening night on her 30th birthday.
The show is packed with energy, live music, and even real puppiesâyes, real puppies. âThey have their own dressing room and are probably the most pampered cast members,â Sydnie joked, while holding a lively pup named Vegas during a recent interview. âBut I love dogs, so I donât mind the chaos one bit!â

After her run as Cruella wraps on August 31, Sydnie will headline her own solo concert just days later on September 9 at Londonâs Adelphi Theatre. Itâs a full-circle moment for someone who, just a year ago, was still adjusting to life in the spotlight.
âI still canât believe how far Iâve come in such a short time,â she said. âFrom BGT to the West End, performing in America, releasing my debut album, and now putting on my own showâitâs a dream.â

But Sydnie is already looking ahead. In between rehearsals, sheâs been writing music for her next big goal: representing the UK at Eurovision.
âIt would mean the world,â she said. âI watched Mae Muller last year and felt so proud. Iâm in songwriting sessions now, really trying to figure out who I am as an artist. If I do Eurovision, I want to bring something bold, exciting, and totally âmeââbig vocals, big emotion, and big staging!â

And if her past performances are any sign, sheâs got what it takes. With her bluesy tone, powerhouse high notes, and a voice that stirs real emotion, Sydnie could be just the kind of act the UK needs to make a serious impact at Eurovision.
