Sydnie Christmas, the powerhouse vocalist who captured the nation’s hearts when she won Britain’s Got Talent in 2023, is showing no signs of slowing down.

After a whirlwind year filled with dream-come-true moments—from performing in New York to singing for King Charles—Sydnie is now back on the very stage where it all began, and looking ahead to one of Europe’s biggest platforms: Eurovision.

This summer, she returns to London’s iconic Eventim Apollo, but this time not as a contestant—she’s stepping into the spotlight as the villainous Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical. Playing the stylish but sinister role is a big shift from the vulnerable ballads that won her the BGT title, but Sydnie is more than ready.

“It’s a dream to be back on this stage. I’ve always wanted to do musical theatre, and now I get to do it—on my birthday, no less,” she laughed, referring to the musical’s opening night on her 30th birthday.

The show is packed with energy, live music, and even real puppies—yes, real puppies. “They have their own dressing room and are probably the most pampered cast members,” Sydnie joked, while holding a lively pup named Vegas during a recent interview. “But I love dogs, so I don’t mind the chaos one bit!”

After her run as Cruella wraps on August 31, Sydnie will headline her own solo concert just days later on September 9 at London’s Adelphi Theatre. It’s a full-circle moment for someone who, just a year ago, was still adjusting to life in the spotlight.

“I still can’t believe how far I’ve come in such a short time,” she said. “From BGT to the West End, performing in America, releasing my debut album, and now putting on my own show—it’s a dream.”

But Sydnie is already looking ahead. In between rehearsals, she’s been writing music for her next big goal: representing the UK at Eurovision.

“It would mean the world,” she said. “I watched Mae Muller last year and felt so proud. I’m in songwriting sessions now, really trying to figure out who I am as an artist. If I do Eurovision, I want to bring something bold, exciting, and totally ‘me’—big vocals, big emotion, and big staging!”

And if her past performances are any sign, she’s got what it takes. With her bluesy tone, powerhouse high notes, and a voice that stirs real emotion, Sydnie could be just the kind of act the UK needs to make a serious impact at Eurovision.

As her grandmother proudly said in a surprise message:

“It’s been a year since Britain’s Got Talent, and you’ve come so far. We’re so proud of you. And yes—we’re ready to be your understudies anytime!”

Sydnie laughed through tears, saying, “I’m the luckiest girl in the world.”

And we believe her.
