The Voice finale: Jeremy Beloate sings an Otis Redding song with his coach Snoop Dogg
Before the outcome of Americaâs votes was announced, each finalist stepped onto the stage to sing a duet with their coach. Memphis native, Jeremy and his mentor Snoop Dogg presented an emotional rendition of (Sittinâ On) The Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding.
In a confessional, Jeremy reflected on his journey on The Voice and expressed gratitude for the opportunity. He was thankful to be under the mentorship of Snoop Dogg, who treated him âlike familyâ and with whom he had developed a âbrotherhood.â
Although Jeremy finished fifth overall in season 26 of the competition, he confessed that Snoopâs mentorship helped him gain confidence in himself and his skills.
Jeremyâs journey on The Voice
Jeremy earned a four-chair turn during the blind auditions with his powerful rendition of Giveonâs Heartbreak Anniversary. Although every coach came up with a convincing appeal, Jeremy selected Michael as his mentor.
However, Jeremy jumped ships in the Knockouts round when Snoop Dogg stole him from Team Bublé, impressed by his cover of Golden Hour by Jvke.
He remained on Team Snoop ever since. In the Playoffs, Jeremy sang The Impossible Dream (The Quest) followed by a solo version of I (Who Have Nothing) in the Live Shows. Jeremy then teamed up with Mega Mentor Sting to deliver a noteworthy rendition of Every Breath You Take by The Police.
Ultimately, Jeremy made it into the last leg of the competition after defeating Christina Eagle in the Semi-finals.
