“Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In the lane, snow is glistening. A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight, walking in a winter wonderland…”
Watch their performance below.
Written in 1934 by Richard B. Smith and Felix Bernard, “Winter Wonderland” is a beautiful song with a beautiful story about a magical white Christmas with a silly snowman. The tune is not only pleasant, but each of us have fantasized about building a snowman that comes to life after watching the Frosty the Snowman special on TV.
Interesting Fact: The lyricist Richard Smith served as an editor of a newspaper before taking up a career in music. The composer Felix Bernard, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, played the piano with popular orchestras and was also a tap dancer and writer of musical comedies for Vaudeville.
It is no secret that both of these men know their way around a mic, so to see the wonderful duo between the two really is breathtaking. We hope you have a winter wonderland Christmas whether it’s real snow or you have to use your imagination!
